International Student Exchange of Canada LTD. (ISX) is a licensed travel agent and member of the Travel Industry Council of Ontario. Licence No. 50011393

Words defined in Legal Notices and Disclaimers have the same meaning in these terms.

Legal Contract

When you click to make a booking with us legal obligations arise. You must not make any booking through this site unless you understand and agree all our terms and policies. Once a sales agent has committed to booking a tour on behalf of a passenger, the sales agent and its employer or institution which has collected the money is liable for the remission of funds to ISX. Once payment is collected for the booking, it is deemed that you have read and understood the terms and conditions for the booking. If you have any queries please contact us before making any booking for any service.

Agency

Products and services are sold by ISX as a tour operator for aggregate and wholesale companies and other suppliers providing services, including accommodation and transportation services. All tickets, coupons, exchange orders, vouchers and receipts are issued subject to the appropriate tariffs and terms and conditions of sale of suppliers and these terms.


Liability

ISX has no liability for any act, omission or default, whether negligent or otherwise for the bookings purchased by sales agents on behalf of passengers. We have no liability for any loss or damage occasioned by the negligence, act or omission of any sales agent or other third party. We reserve the right to cancel or modify itineraries or bookings where circumstances require.

In circumstances where liability of ISX cannot be excluded, such liability is limited to the value of the purchased travel arrangements. ISX reserves the right to decline any booking for any individual on any tour or other service.

Illustrations

Photographs and illustrations and other promotional material are for promotion purposes only. They do not represent any benefit that will be included in any arrangements made by you.

Availability

The services sold through ISX are subject to availability and can be withdrawn without notice. Access to this site and any site normally linked to this site is not guaranteed and is subject to availability of communications links and access rights. ISX reserves the right to deny password login on this site to any person or password holder.

Passenger Name/Ticket

It is essential that you enter details of each traveller correctly and according to passport or other identification. Some suppliers will deny carriage if the traveller's name varies from your booking and may cancel automatically if the traveller's name is amended. ISX bears no responsibility for any loss or damage arising from incorrect entry of traveller's name any inability to travel as a result of carrier's policies.

Unlicensed Entity Disclaimer

If you request ISX to arrange for the provision of products or services by a person or company which is not licensed in accordance with any applicable law, ISX accepts no liability (whether in contract, for negligence or otherwise) for any loss or damage suffered by you or any third party as a result.

Alterations to Tour Itineraries by Suppliers

In the event of material alterations by a supplier to a proposed tour booked by you, you may be given the option of cancelling the tour without penalty but this is not guaranteed. The right to cancel is subject to the conditions of the supplier. Your acceptance of any tickets, coupons, exchange orders, vouchers and receipts will be deemed acceptance of the above conditions and of any alterations made to your tour.


Travel Documents

It is very important that you read the following information carefully and contact us if you require any assistance in any area.

Passport

All individuals departing from Canada must be in possession of a valid passport. If your passport is due to expire within six months of your return arrival back in Canada then under normal circumstances you should obtain a new passport. It is the passengers responsibility to ensure they are in possession of a valid passport and that they meet all Visa requirements.


Visa Requirements

Certain countries require a Visa for entry prior to arrival. Please ensure you are fully informed of the requirements before you make a reservation as visas can take some time to obtain.

Vaccinations are strongly recommended for certain destinations. Please contact your local doctor who will advise you of these requirements. Please note that vaccinations may be recommended some period in advance of travelling.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all clients take out travel comprehensive insurance when making a booking. We recommend that insurance covers loss of deposit and other monies through cancellation, loss or damage to personal baggage and loss of money, medical expenses, additional expenses to cover hotel accommodation and repatriation costs to Canada should any services need to be extended or curtailed due to illness or other insurable risk. Please contact us to arrange travel insurance before making payment for a service.

Rates and Price Variations

We reserve the right to vary published rates in the event of changes in exchange rates or price rises made by wholesalers or other suppliers. If the cost of any service increases due to exchange rate fluctuations, price increases, tax changes or any other reason, you must pay the increase when notified. We are not liable in any way if any increase occurs. Rates quoted are per tour, per package; as appropriate to the particular product. All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice.

Currency

All prices quoted in the flight booking engine are in Canadian dollars.


Ticketing

Sales agents must issue passengers the appropriate paper ticket for each tour. Tickets will be provided to the sales agents by ISX and contain binding legal booking information. Sales agents must collect monies on behalf of ISX and are required to remit payment minus commissions if applicable to ISX within 14 business days from the date of departure. Passengers must present a valid ticket when boarding including the correct ticket number and trip date.

Transfer of Funds

Sales agents and the institutions they are employed by collect funds on behalf of ISX. Sales agents are entitled to an amount of commission per booking set out in the sales agreement. All other funds collected on behalf of ISX are the sole property of ISX. At no time may funds collected be used by for any purpose other than to be remitted to ISX. Funds must be remitted within fourteen (14) days from the date of the trips departure. Use of collected funds for any purpose other than remission to ISX constitutes a criminal negligence and will be treated as such. Sales agents and the institutions they are employed by acknowledge by agreeing to these conditions that legal action is warranted if funds are not remitted within fourteen (14) business days of trip departure. Sales agents and the institutions they are employed by acknowledge that the money they collect on behalf of ISX at no time belongs to the sales agent or institution. Unwarranted use of ISX funds is a criminal act. ISX may request documented evidence of booking logs by sales agents. Sales agents are required to keep documentation of bookings and the flow of funds to ensure that ISX funds are separated from the funds of the sales agent's commissions and the funds of the institution.


Price Inclusions and Exclusions

Prices listed on the ISX secure booking site, and in the online booking engine, are subject to availability and conditions may change without notice. Although every care has been taken the prices are not guaranteed until paid in full and documents have been issued. Unless otherwise stated prices shown are in Canadian Dollars and are fully inclusive of taxes, levies, government charges and other applicable fees. Items included in the prices or rates of the products are specified in each section. Prices do not include, meals other than as stated in itineraries, vaccination fees, any items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, beverages, laundry, excess baggage charges and gratuities, travel insurance or other items not specified.

Goods and Services Tax

Prices quoted include goods and services tax ("GST") and or Harmonized Sales Tax ("HST") where applicable. 

Service Fees

ISX professional service fees may apply. Some agents may charge an additional fee for service and these vary between agents. A surcharge may apply for credit card transactions.
